Doctors will remove a bullet lodged in the shoulder of Cheraw Police Officer Maurice Merritt.

Police say Travis Quick shot Officer Merritt last week after he pulled him over for a traffic violation.

Officers say Quick shot and killed himself after he was confronted by officers.

Cheraw Police Chief Jay Brooks says state police will review the bullet removed from Merritt's shoulder and compare it with others before they officially wrap up their investigation.
