The man Myrtle Beach police say killed an innocent woman in a wreck has a prior criminal history including traffic offenses and a stint on probation.
Johnny Samuel Foster, 28, of Myrtle Beach, was convicted of possession of crack cocaine in 2007, and he served one year on probation. He was also ticketed for disregarding a stop sign and a moped license violation that same year.
In 2005, he was charged with simple assault and battery and disorderly conduct, but he was never convicted.
Myrtle Beach police say Foster stabbed his girlfriend at their Brown Pelican Road home on Monday night and then took off in a Ford Expedition. Minutes later, police say he crashed into two cars at the intersection of 501 and Seaboard Street.
Cheryl Byrd, 53, of Pawleys Island, died. Another woman was flown to a Wilmington, NC, hospital in critical condition.
Foster was still in the hospital Tuesday night, and police say they'll officially charge him when he's released.
