(AP) --

Police say a 12-year-old middle-schooler has been charged with disturbing school after a prank note was found saying she would like to kill eight fellow students.

Greenville sheriff's spokesman Lt. Shea Smith told multiple media outlets Friday that the girl had no weapon and she told investigators she never planned to hurt anyone.

The girl's parents picked her up from Berea Middle School and she will have a hearing in Family Court.
