The Horry County Council has adopted recommendations on the proposed "piggyback" landfill.
The recommendations come after months of meeting between the Solid Waste Authority and an advisory committee.
During that process, both sides were able to resolve 21 of 30 issues to include increased curbside recycling, odor control, battery recycling, and the appearance of the site on Highway 90.
What they didn't settle on is the height of the new landfill, which if built as proposed may be seen as far away as Ocean Boulevard.
