The Waccamaw Regional Education Center in collaboration with the S.C. Commission on Higher Education is encouraging every high school senior in Horry, Georgetown, and Williamsburg County School Districts to complete a college application and FAFSA (financial aid) application.
As an incentive, the Waccamaw Regional Education Center will conduct a prize drawing to win one of three Livescribe Pulse Smartpens valued at $169.95. The Pulse Smartpen is the newest tool for college students - a 2GB Pulse Smartpen records everything the student hears or writes, replays the recorded audio, searches for words within notes, downloads notes and recordings online, and much more.
High school seniors in Georgetown, Horry, and Williamsburg County School Districts who complete a 2010 college application and FAFSA application are eligible for the prize drawing on March 19th by completing the 100% College Goal Survey at www.personalpathways.sc.gov/waccamaw.
Click on College Goal Sunday and scroll to 100% College Goal Survey.
For assistance contact Patty Shortt at pshortt@scpathways.org.
FAFSA application assistance sessions will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Williamsburg Technical College and Horry-Georgetown Technical College Conway Campus.
