(AP) -- Today fire marshals returned to the scene of a fire that ripped through a Myrtle Beach motel Friday.

The fire began around 8:30 p.m. Friday between Gilligan's Bar and Grill and Tides Inn and Suites.

The two buildings are attached on the 1200 north block of Ocean Boulevard.

Myrtle Beach Fire Department Assistant Chief Dan Cimini expects it to take a while before a cause and damage estimate are determined because of the amount of fire damage and weather conditions.

Both of the buildings were closed for the offseason, so no one was inside and no injuries were reported.
