NewsChannel 15 has learned a car has collided with a Darlington County School Bus.

Audrey Childers, public information officer for the Darlington County School District, tells us a car hit the bus on Oleander Drive and Lawson Road just after 3:30 this afternoon.

Deputies on scene tell us at least 45 kids, both high school and middle school students, were on the bus and are being checked for injuries.

The Darlington County Sheriff's Office and South Carolina Highway Patrol are investigating what caused the accident.

Childers is on her way to the scene and will release more information to NewsChannel 15 as it becomes available.
