The director of the Marion County Emergency Management Division, Brandon Ellis, tells NewsChannel 15 the Little Pee Dee River is at 9.04 feet high. Ellis says that is very close to flood stage.

Ellis is meeting with officials with the National Weather Service this afternoon to discuss how more rain could impact the river and residents who live near the Fork Retch Community, which is between Nichols and Mullins.

The director of the Florence County Emergency Prepardness Division, Dusty Owens, tells NewsChannel 15 they too are closely monitoring Lynches River and Black Creek.

Owens says both rivers are high, but not at flood stage. He says with the expectation of more rain it could cause the rivers to flood their banks. Owens says he is waiting to hear more from the National Weather Service.
