Highway Patrol says one peron died in a car accident on Interstate 20 near mile marker 127 in Darlington County, right before the Lee County line.
The accident happened just after 7 o'clock this morning.
Darlington County Coroner Todd Hardee says the accident involved one car. He says the driver lost control and hit a tree. The victim, who died at the scene, is from Florida. The victim's name has not been released pending notification of family.
Hardee says the driver was not wearing a seat belt.
