ORANGEBURG, S.C. (AP) -- A week of events scheduled for South Carolina State University will lead up to the observance of the anniversary of the infamous Orangeburg Massacre.

The events begin on Monday at the school with a presentation of a documentary on the Feb. 8, 1968 incident in which three students were killed and 28 wounded after picketing at a segregated bowling alley.

Among other events during the week are performances of a play about the incident performed by students and written by an S.C. State senior.

The formal commemoration is scheduled for next Monday, Feb. 8.
