The North Myrtle Beach City Manager announced Tuesday the city demoted William Bailey to lieutenant.
He'll serve a two-week suspension without pay starting Wednesday.
A few weeks ago, the city suspended Bailey with pay and launched an investigation after Bailey lied about the theft of his city-issued service weapon.
The city says it's also investigating additional allegations of misconduct by Bailey and more action could be taken.
