CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- A joint Georgia-South Carolina agency building a new shipping port on the Savannah River is getting an update on the progress of the $500 million project.
The board of the Jasper Ocean Terminal Joint Project meets Monday in Garden City, Ga.
The states are cooperating on building the new terminal on an 1,800 acre site on the South Carolina side of the river.
The site is located just downstream from downtown Savannah.
