Governor Mark Sanford gave his last State of the State address Wednesday night.
It was Sanford's first statewide address since his June confession of an affair with an Argentine woman that prompted investigations into his travel and spending practices.
Governor Mark Sanford's speech had a specific and limited set of goals. The governor presented the speech in a tone that lawmakers on both sides of the aisle described as "conciliatory."

After the governor's address, there were a few state lawmakers who said they didn't believe the governor would be effective in his final year and that his claim to work peacefully with lawmakers is too little too late.
