Today, members of the Myrtle Beach Area Hospitality Association were given an update on the boardwalk project.

Downtown Redevelopment Director David Sebok told members the boardwalk project is on schedule and should be ready for a ribbon cutting by Memorial Day.

He says the north section should be completed in a few weeks, the center section will get decking installed this week, and the south section promenade is slightly ahead of schedule.

Sebok says several businesses are ready to apply for sidewalk cafe permits on the boardwalk.
