The Horry County Police Department is investigating an incident that happened at the First Citizens Branch on River Oaks Drive in Carolina Forest.

Sergeant Robert Kegler tells NewsChannel 15 a man entered the bank and told the teller there was a man threatening to kill a woman and a child if he didn't get money from the bank.

The teller gave the man the money, and he drove away alone.

Police say they never found the other man or the woman and child.

Investigators say the man who entered the bank never showed a weapon. They say it's possible he could face some charges if it's determined he was running a scam.
