(AP) -- The GOP debate among candidates for South Carolina governor has a second moderator.

The Republican Party says Mika Brzezinski will join Joe Scarborough in moderating the debate, scheduled for Jan. 28 in Charleston. Brzezinski is co-host of MSNBC's "Morning Joe," which Scarborough hosts.

Brzezinski also will speak at a lunch earlier in the day where current and former Republican first ladies of South Carolina will be honored. They include: Jenny Sanford, Mary Wood Beasley, Iris Campbell and Anne Edwards. All plan to attend the lunch.

U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett, Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer, state Rep. Nikki Haley and Attorney General Henry McMaster are running in the Republican primary. Five Democrats also are running.

Gov. Mark Sanford's second and final term ends in January 2011.
