(AP) -- JONESVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Authorities have rescued a woman they found clinging to the banks of a frozen South Carolina creek.
Union County Sheriff David Taylor told multiple media outlets that deputies responded to a missing person call around 8 p.m. Friday at Mill Creek near Jonesville.
Taylor said deputies heard someone calling for help and found the woman on the opposite side of the water.
The creek was partially frozen, so crews needed to break the ice to get to her.
The woman was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and treated for back and shoulder pain and hypothermia. Her name has not been released, and deputies don't know why she was at the creek.
