(AP) -- South Carolina authorities have accused a prisoner of the stabbing death of another inmate at a maximum security prison.
The State Law Enforcement Division said Tuesday Jack Cooper, 21, had been charged with murder.
Authorities say Lamont Perry, 26, was attacked around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in a dormitory at the McCormick Correctional Institution and died a short time later.
Perry had spent more than four years behind bars on a 15-year sentence for second-degree criminal sexual conduct. Cooper began serving a 12-year sentence for armed robbery in 2007.
