(AP) -- McCORMICK, S.C. (AP) - A prisoner has been stabbed to death by a fellow inmate at a maximum security prison in South Carolina.
Authorities say 26-year-old Lamont Perry was attacked around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in a dormitory at the McCormick Correctional Institution and died a short time later.
Perry had spent more than four years behind bars on a 15-year sentence for second-degree criminal sexual conduct out of Dorchester County.
Prison officials say they are investigating the incident with the State Law Enforcement Division and didn't release the name of the inmate suspected of stabbing Perry.
