Myrtle Beach Police say on November 19th the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, the Myrtle Beach Police Department, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Horry County Sheriff's Office and S.C. Probation Parole, conducted an operation targeting gang members and associates of the SUR-13, Blood, and 18th Street Gang and arrested 9 people.
According to a news release Monday from the MBPD, of the 9 arrested, five were arrested by U.S. Immigration and Customs. Myrtle Beach Police say these five arrested were found to be illegally present in the United States and involved in gang activity. All are nationals of Mexico and are in the custody of ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement).
Police say four known gang members were arrested by the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit and charged with various drug violations. They seized money and a vehicle.
