ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) -- Authorities say a 10-month-old South Carolina boy died because of his exposure to fogging bug spray.

Deputy Anderson County Coroner Dan McCown told multiple media outlets Thursday that toxicology results show 10-month-old Jacob Whitfield died from organic phosphate poisoning.

Authorities were called to Elizabeth Whitfield's home Nov. 1 after she reported her youngest son was having breathing troubles.

Jacob Whitfield died at a hospital.

Investigators say they found more than half a dozen spent insect foggers in the family's mobile home in Williamston.

Elizabeth Whitfield and her 2-year-old son, Kenneth, were also hospitalized with respiratory distress. They were released two weeks ago.
