A woman who was hurt trying to stop a purse snatcher has been moved to a rehab unit in Georgia.

51-year-old Brenda Williams suffered serious injuries when she was run over while trying to stop a woman who stole a purse at the Myrtle Beach K-Mart store last month.

Her mother says Williams was transferred Wednesday to the Shepherd Center in Atlanta, which specializes in brain and spinal trauma.

Williams family expects her to be in rehab for at least a month.

Several churches are raising money to help Williams with her recovery. You can donate at any Conway National Bank branch, just ask to donate to the Brenda D. Williams Recovery Account.
