(AP) -- Jurors could soon start deliberating the fate of a South Carolina man accused of killing his girlfriend.

Multiple media outlets report that the jury could begin discussing Jamel Good's fate as early as Thursday afternoon. Authorities say Good killed 31-year-old Maria Fernandez and buried her body in the backyard of the couple's Union County home.

Fernandez was last seen in September 2008. A utility worker found her body in a remote area four months later.

Good's trial started Monday. Jurors have heard from a neighbor who testified he heard three gunshots coming from Goods house the night Fernandez was last seen.

The couple's 6-year-old son also testified he saw his father bury Fernandez in the backyard.
