Grand Strand business leaders passed along their wish list for the year ahead to area lawmakers on Wednesday.
The Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled its legislative agenda for 2010 at its annual luncheon for lawmakers. Chamber leaders say support for tourism marketing and infrastructure improvements, specifically funding for I-73, are at the top of their list of priorities.
They say they know funding will be tight next year, but that won't change their agenda.
"That is an issue. The budget problem remains this year but we can't back off, we've got to continue because these are important parts of our economy here so we must continue to be held in top priority," said Buzz Freeman, Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Legislative Council.
Freeman says the chamber will also lobby for higher education funding for Coastal Carolina University and Horry Georgetown Technical College.
