ROCK HILL, S.C. (AP) -- School officials say a South Carolina kindergarten student was mistakenly given the H1N1 vaccine against her mother's wishes.

The Herald of Rock Hill reported that the student at Belleview Elementary School was mistakenly vaccinated at the school Tuesday.

Rock Hill schools spokeswoman Elaine Baker says Natasha Jones had filled out a permission slip for the shots, but changed her mind after a doctor warned her daughter shouldn't get it because she has asthma.

Jones says she went to the school last month and asked that her children not be vaccinated and was told that wouldn't be a problem.

Baker says one of the parental consent forms got left in the stack of those getting the shot.

Jones says she became worried when her daughter woke up Wednesday with a 102-degree fever.
