South Carolina lawmakers will meet again this week to debate whether to remove Governor Mark Sanford from office.

A seven member house judiciary panel will consider whether Sanford's five day absence in June, while visiting his mistress in Argentina, constitutes negligence in office.

The panel held a hearing last week to consider a resolution against the governor that says he misled his staff and left no one else in command of the state.

Sanford is also under investigation by the State Ethics Commission for allegedly using his public office for personal financial gain.

Meanwhile, Governor Sanford maintains that the accusations against him don't equate to impeachable offenses.
