The men's and women's track teams at Coastal Carolina University are putting their stamp on the community. They've started a program called "Run, Jump and Throw with the Chants."

It's an after school program to promote healthy life skills, fitness, nutrition and leadership. Five different workout stations were set up at the CCU track. Members of the CCU track team are part of this mentoring program.

Their purpose is to encourage positive relationships with area school children and even help with academic skills.

"It's athleticism. It's being competitive, being a good sport, being a good listener and learning. Earlier on, we taught about eating healthy. It's just all around being a good person," said Kandisa Allicock, CCU Track Star.

The CCU track teams hold this program once a month usually going on the road to visit Grand Strand schools.
