Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Goodwill stores in Florence and Little River Wednesday to donate clothing and food items.
The clothing will go to Goodwill's Golden Angel Program which helps elderly people in our communities who are having a tough time making ends meet.
The food will go to the Manna House in Florence and the Lowcountry Food Bank on the Grand Strand.
At the Goodwill store in Florence, we collected about 16 boxes of food and clothing.
At the Goodwill store in Little River, people donated a pallet full of food and several coats.
Rick Shelley with Goodwill Workforce Investment says this is always a tough time, because the need is so great. "Individuals within the community, our senior citizens that maybe disadvantaged in someway, can't afford some of the things that most of us take for granted, such as warm clothing and having good food to eat."
Our clothing and food drive ended Wednesday, but Goodwill will continue to collect needed goods.
You're asked to stop by a Goodwill store in your area and give.
