Suicide is a topic that's often taboo, but each year in the U.S. more than 30,000 people die by suicide. It's the 11th leading cause of death in this country.

Coming up next week, NewsChannel 15's Allyson Floyd takes an in depth look at suicide: the warning signs, the myths, its link to mental illness and the treatments for those, and how you can help a loved one or friend in crisis. You'll also hear from families who've lost loved ones.

Suicide: There's Help and Hope. Monday, November 16th - Thursday, November 19th on NewsChannel 15 at 11.

If you need to talk with someone, if you're in crisis, call toll free 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK.
