Nearly 50 people could lose their jobs when the Piggly Wiggly at Carolina Forest in Horry County closes November 7th.
A company spokesman says growth at the store has been stagnant, and competition from a nearby Food Lion store and the new Walmart has hurt business.
Officials say they hope to transfer workers to other Piggly Wiggly stores on the Grand Strand.
