Scientists from around the world will be on the Grand Strand this week.
They're gathering for a six day geological conference where they'll discuss beach erosion and shoreline change along the South Carolina coast.
The International Geological Programs annual conference is being held at the Marriott Grand Dunes in Myrtle Beach and will continue throughout the week.
Coastal Carolina University's Center for Marine and Wetland Studies was a lead institution in the research being reported.
