It may not feel like it, but economists say, the recession is officially over in Myrtle Beach.

According to the financial research firm, www.Moodyseconomy.com, 79 metro areas in the country, including three in South Carolina are in recovery. They are the Myrtle Beach, Augusta, and Columbia areas.

Moody's based that on the latest data on jobs, manufacturing and housing.

Seven other metro areas in South Carolina are still in a recession.

Economists point out the recovery will be slow and some jobs are still being lost.
