Horry County: Inmate died of natural causes

Horry County has identified the inmate who died Thursday morning in his cell at J. Reuben Long Detention Center as Roman Vyachenko Kirichenko, 30, a Russian National. They say he died of natural causes.

A spokeswoman says an autopsy was performed by Dr. Edward Proctor Friday morning around 6:30 am and preliminary findings indicated death by natural causes, cardiomyopathy-related. The complete autopsy results will be published at a later date.

Kirichenko was found dead by his cellmate around 7:21am Thursday.

Kirichenko was incarcerated on July 25, 2009, for trespassing and shoplifting 3rd offense.
