Chainsaw meets pumpkin.
Thursday night, the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is highlighting the culinary arts program at Horry Georgetown Technical College.
To prepare for the occasion, Chef Eric Wagner carved up a monster pumpkin using a chainsaw. Wagner teaches a 15 week course called "Principles of Food Production." His students watched as he turned a 250 pound pumpkin into fall art.
It's being used as a centerpiece at the chamber's "on campus" gathering at the college.
"We're showing the students something unique, something we do out in the field. We do carve ice, we do carve fruit and vegetables. We're just taking something to a more extreme level, giving them a wow factor and seeing what can be done with a pumpkin," said Chef Wagner.
To show off their talents, the students prepared a big meal for the chamber members which includes filet mignon and oysters rockefeller.
