SC Cares, as animal sanctuary that cares for exotic and non-releasable wildlife, held their annual Animal Meet and Greet Fundraiser; Chocolate, Champagne and Creatures Extravaganza Friday night.

Local businesses donated dozens of items for a silent auction to benefit the three year old organization.

"It takes a lot of money to feed the 135 animals that we've taken in," said Cindy Hedrick, Co-Director of SC Cares.

She continued, "It's not just dog food, these guys need parrot food, and then we have horses, it takes a lot each month to pay the bills for feed."

Hedrick says SC Cares is always in need of donations and volunteers to help their organization.
