Grand Strand tourism leaders want to hear what you think about how they should develop tourism in the area.
The South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism is working with a consultant from Ireland, to come up with a tourism action plan for the state.
To come up with ideas for the plan, four public meetings will be held in Horry and Georgetown counties over the next two weeks. Tourism leaders say the meetings will give residents the chance to give their opinions about the area's tourism strengths and weaknesses.
"There may be things we're overlooking, what are the hidden gems of our community that are worth being shaped and molded and made even better for our tourists," said Bridgette Johnson, Conway Chamber of Commerce.
