A hit and run car accident in Conway Sunday night required two people to be airlifted to hospitals.

Conway Police say the hit and run happened on Main Street in downtown Conway.

Police say the driver drove off, but eventually crashed into a tree at Fourth and Elm Streets, overturned, and hit a utility poll.

One person was ejected from the car and another trapped underneath the car.

One had to be airlifted from the scene to New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, the other was later flown to the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston after initially being transported to Conway Medical Center.

The conditions of the two victims have not been released.

Conway police say no charges have been filed.
