NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -- The two sides in a simmering dispute over raliroad crossings in a coastal South Carolina city are still at odds.

Officials in North Charleston have been feuding with CSX Railroad over three rail crossings that have jarred motorists as they drive over them.

A bumpy crossing on East Montague Avenue, one of the main arteries in the city, will be repaired beginning Tuesday. Because

of the work on Montague, motorists will be detoured around the crossing through Friday.

Earlier this summer, the city even put up signs saying if people had complaints about the crossings, call the railroad, not the city.

At one point, Mayor Keith Summey confronted a CSX railroad worker as the worker tried to pull down one of the signs.
