FLORENCE, S.C. (AP) -- Prosecutors say they will seek the death penalty against a South Carolina man charged with robbing and killing a 69-year-old Florence woman last year.
Multiple media outlets reported Friday that 22-year-old David Johnson was appointed a second lawyer after Friday's hearing.
Authorities say 69-year-old Willie Hayes was found dead in a ditch in August 2008. She had been stabbed several times, her body was wrapped in a bedspread from her home and hidden in weeds.
Johnson has been charged with murder, first-degree burglary and armed robbery.
