A Williamsburg County police officer is behind bars, accused of burglary and police say he was in his patrol uniform when he committed the crime.

Captain Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff's Office tells NewsChannel 15 that deputies arrested Hemingway Police Officer David Eaddy Saturday in Lake City.

Captain Nunn sayS Eaddy was arrested after breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home.

Florence County deputies charged him with burglary.

Hemingway police say Eaddy has been with the department for two months and has now been put on administrative leave without pay.
