Golf was the game and a good cause was the goal in North Myrtle Beach Sunday.
The fifth annual South Carolina Senior Open kicked off at Tidewater Golf Club.
The tournament includes a pro-am, skills contests, long drive demonstrations, drawings and plenty of entertainment.
Event organizers say -- in it's five years -- the tournament has become a major Grand Strand event, drawing people from up and down the east coast and even as far away as Holland.
Tournament Director Bill Pearson says in its five years, the charity golf tournament has raised more than $100,000 for local charities and community projects.
Pearson continued, "I don't think many small charities are -- they need the time that they have to provide the services that they do for the community and their services are in great demand, especially this year. So, anytime you can find somebody who will help you with your fundraising it just allows them more of their time providing services for the community."
