Michelin opens office to help businesses get loans

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- Michelin is opening an office in South Carolina to help businesses get low-interest loans and advice.

Michelin North America Inc. is officially opening the Michelin Development Upstate office in Greenville on Tuesday.

Officials say Michelin will also announce a bank partner for the program, as well as a steering committee and advisory board.

Businesses can begin applying online for the program Tuesday.

Officials are on hand to give demonstrations of the online application process.

Michelin North America is headquartered in Greenville and employs 22,500 in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
