Myrtle Beach City Council has taken the first step to finance the stormwater section of the boardwalk project.
The boardwalk itself is in the final stages moving toward construction.
The city spokesperson says they worked today to complete the financing on the stormwater drainage work that will go under the new boardwalk.
The boardwalk will be built between 1st and 14th Avenues North.
The first phase is scheduled to be completed by next Easter.
