Local fire dept receives FEMA grant

A local fire department has a bit more cash for operations and safety equipment, thanks to a federal grant.

The Floyd Dale Rescue and Fire Department in Dillon county received nearly $26,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency, or FEMA.

The grant was a part of a $500 million annual program that awards grants to local fire departments throughout the country.
