The North Myrtle Beach City Council has banned open burning within city limits after the April wildfires.
A burning ban in North Myrtle Beach started after that wildfire that destroyed more than 70 homes in Barefoot Resort.
Although the fire started outside city limits, leaders moved quickly to outlaw outdoor burning, including yard debris, with just a few exceptions.
Fires that are still legal include barbeques, outdoor fireplaces, and educational fires.
