A Coastal Carolina University coach was arrested early Saturday morning for driving under the influence.

Jeff Jacobs fifth year head coach of CCU Men's Cross Country and Track and Field teams was arrested around 4:00am.

Jacobs was the 2006 co-Coach of Year in the Big South Conference after his squad brought home just their second conference title in school history.

Under his watch, four people have advanced to ncaa national championship rounds and 17 school records have been set.

Coastal Carolina University athletic director Warren "Moose" Koegel said in a statement, "We are very concerned for Coach Jacobs and for the men's cross country and men's track programs, and will follow all athletic department policies in this matter. We are continuing to review the situation and are working with University officials regarding the incident. Until the investigation is complete, we will have no further comment on the issue."
