As Coastal Carolina University students return to class, they'll find a new effort on campus to prevent the spread of swine flu.

Students will get H1N1 health alerts in their welcome week packets and e-mail advisories will be sent to students, faculty and staff.

Swine flu shots will be added to the school's regular flu vaccination clinics as soon as they're available.

So far, there have been no confirmed cases of swine flu at CCU.

"Now certainly we anticipate as the fall semester progresses, that that number will change so that's why the university is meeting on a weekly basis to make sure that we can respond promptly to any issues that come to our attention," said Ceasar Ross, the CCU Student Health Director.

Ross says students who have flu-like symptoms will be urged to report immediately to health services.

Weekly swine flu updates will be posted on the health services web site.
