Pizza deliverers, beware.
The city of Myrtle Beach is cracking down. At the city's request, a circuit judge issued an injunction, stopping local pizza delivery stores from slipping their advertising fliers under hotel room doors.
Hotel owners complain the fliers cause a litter problem, and hotel guests could slip and fall when stepping on the fliers. The pizza deliverers seemed to be ignoring a law that was supposed to solve the problem, so the judge's order will add a little extra cheese to it.
"We will actually go back to the judge and advise him that they violated the order and provide that evidence and if he sees fit, they'll be charged with contempt of court, which is a higher fine and also more jail time," said Lt. Amy Prock, Myrtle Beach Police Department.
Prock says police have received nearly 100 complaints about the pizza fliers over the past year.
