Pedestrian hit and killed in Myrtle Beach

18-year-old Megan Loehr was jogging with her mother Wednesday night when she was hit by a car and killed.

Loehr and her mother were vacationing on the Grand Strand.

The two were jogging at the intersection of 17th Avenue South and Kings Highway when Megan was struck by a car.

She was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead around 7:30pm.

Myrtle Beach police have charged the driver of the car with disregarding a traffic signal and operating a vehicle with faulty equipment.
