Tarus Henry, is on trial for stabbing her 28 times with a machete.
Wednesday afternoon, a woman who police say was nearly butchered to death by her husband testified in court about what happened.
24-year-old Carol Denise Parker sobbed throughout her testimony. This week, her husband, 27-year-old Tarus Henry, is on trial for stabbing her 28 times with a machete at their apartment last June.
Their two small children were in the home at the time.
Parker says her husband attacked her following an argument.
"I'm still on the floor. I'm still bleeding and the next thing you know I felt some blows on my back left side in my back and he's repeatedly cutting me," Parker testified.
Officials say Henry also took the stand to testify in his own defense.
He faces several charges including arson and assault and battery with intent to kill.
